How to Make One Million Dollars - I’m Not Selling Anything
Are you tired of getting all those get rich quick schemes in your inbox or via snailmail? I know I am. I have tried so many of them that it seems that I can sniff out the flaws in any program that is sent my way. I thought I would take the time to write a post about all the different things that I have tried and eventually discuss how to make One Million Dollars.
There are a lot of different programs out there on the internet that claim to make you money. Most, if not all of them, will make you very little money, if any at all. There are several different types of programs that I want to talk about on this blog post: Pay-per programs, Affiliate programs and sell it yourself.
I have tried just about every type of scheme there is on the internet and the Paid-per programs are probably the worst bet ever made. They usually do not make you any money unless you take advantage of the offers they provide. The offers that they usually provide are their own affiliate programs that make them money, not you. You get few measly dollars after spending who knows how much completing their offer. The only paid-per program that I have ever found that really works is MyPoints.com. I get a $15 gift card from them for Target about every 4-5 months, just for checking my email. I don’t ever have to sign up for anything else.
Affiliate programs are a little more promising. You sign up for whatever program and try to sell their product on your website. This actually works if you have a lot of traffic coming to your website. If you don’t, then you can’t expect anyone to actually buy anything. The other thing is that everyone and their mother are trying to sell the same thing, hoping to make the same measly commission on one or two items. When there are 50,000 people promoting the same thing, it is rather difficult to make any money. Take the Walmart ad to the right of this post (you can see it on the main blog page if you came to this post directly). Thousands of people have actually seen this ad, but because everyone just goes to their local Walmart or has seen the same ad on umpteen thousand websites, they just pass it by without a second glance. Affiliate programs, like paid-per programs are designed to make the owner of the company rich, not us.
The last thing I want to discuss on this post are the websites that let you offer your own products. Two of my favorites are ebay.com and lulu.com. Ebay.com allows you to take something you already own and set it up in an auction and hopefully making a little money on it. I spend time at thrift stores and yard sales looking for things that I believe will make a profit for me on ebay. On Lulu.com I actually sell books that I have self-published. They let me set my profit and I can advertise the book as much or as little as I want.
Both Ebay and Lulu are great ways to earn a little bit of extra cash, but they are not going to bring in any kind of major income. For one, ebay is so saturated with sellers who do it for a living that it can be difficult to actually earn any kind of real money. Lulu.com will earn you money if you are able to market your books. This is the real trick to earning any kind of money. Letting everyone know that you are out there. I am still learning about this and plan to write a more in-depth article about it in the near future.
So where does this leave us on the road to making One million Dollars? Well the only real way that I have found on the internet to make a Million Dollars it to create your own website (like this guy did) with a unique product that everyone is going to want and advertise the heck out of it.
Other than that I suggest trying the program called “Double Your Way to One Million in 28 steps” You can do this on the internet, but you definitely do not have to. Check out the free ebook and start doubling your way to that goal.
