How to Fold Origami: How to Make the 8 Point Sonobe Star
See how to make the Sonobe Unit before you follow the directions below.
You are going to need 12 units to make this star.
Start with three units. You slide the flap of one unit into the pocket of the next unit.
As you push then together, they should make a nice corner for the start of your cube.
You should be able to create four of these corners (or pyramids) attached to each other.
As you put the rest of the star together, you will have 4 more corners that will appear.

This star is really cool. I have a lot of models that i have made with the sonobe unit besides these. I enjoy every minute of making them too.

Make directions more clear on how to assemble full star took me an hour to figure it out.

It is rather difficult to explain how to put it together. Keep in mind that you have 8 points in this star. You could create 2 halves and attempt to put them together that way. The easiest way is to know when you are half way then start closing the star. I will have to think on this more and maybe create a new how to page.
