Day 12: The Drop

Athvor didn’t look behind him as he got further and further from the battle. Except for the barrage of arrows and metal flack that was shot at him when he took off, he was nearly ignored as he retreated. It was a good thing that the army was focused on the STEEL children on the ground. Athvor was in no condition to fight back if they had followed him. He was getting weaker as he flew further.

Junis’ body seemed to get heavier and heavier the more time went by. He laid there in Athvor’s arms, completely limp, not moving. If he was alive he would be holding on in some way making it easier for Athvor to carry him. If he was alive he would be on Athvor’s back riding him with the wind in his hair.

Instead, Junis’ lifeless body was weighing him down, falling in unusual places as Athvors arms got weaker and weaker. It was not long before Athvor dropped Junis’ body, letting him fall several thousand feet into the canopy below. It took a moment for what happened to register in his mind. When it did finally register he panicked, turned down and race to the ground after the small speck that was Junis.
