Day 012.1: Athvor Hits the Ground
The dive started well. He chased Junis with vigor, even with blood trickling from his wounds. He was pointed like an arrow strait at the ground, picking up speed and cutting through the air with very little wind resistance. It wasn’t long before his body gave out though. It was a mixture of the blood loss and the G-forces he was pulling to reach his friend. He didn’t even get to catch up with his body before he passed out.
Athvor’s vision went to black, but his body continued to fall. If only reality around us would stop when we fell asleep, then maybe some of the bad things that happen when we least expect it would not happen. His wings came un-tucked and his head turned up with the wind. Air filled his wings and slowed him down. They collapsed slightly and sent his body into a spin.
He was moving rather fast when he reached the canopy. This was somewhat a good thing. His falling body broke a lot of the smaller branches at the top of the trees when he hit them. Then, as he got further down, the bigger branches gave way to his enormous weight, lowering him to the ground at an ever decreasing speed. He has a few broken ribs and a fracture in his lower back, but he was still alive after hitting the ground.
