Day 023: Landing in the Village
Athvor made the decision for both of them. He wanted to see the damage up close. He was sure that the evil army was responsible for this destruction. Eeno was not quite awake when he laded, but when the smells of charred buildings entered his nostrils, his eyes opened the rest of the way.
The buildings were still smoking. Most of them had been made out of straw and mud. The straw burned while the mud made it smoke a thick black cloud that could be seen for miles. There were only dirt paths between the paths. This was obviously a poor village, not being able to pave their roads of even line their roads with cobblestone.
The village was deserted. There were bodies left charred on the ground. Some lay in the entrances of the homes. Some were impaled and left on the fences as warnings for all those who might think about defying them. Needless to say, it was a dead village… a ghost town of sorts.
The two dragons began to walk around. Amazed by what they saw, their senses were heightened by the fact that there could still be creatures hiding in what was left of the buildings. The curiosity was still stronger than the sense of danger. They were dragons and one of them was a seasoned warrior.
