Day 034: Revenge?

“I don’t know” Athvor pondered a thought that he had been thinking about over and over again ever since He and Eeno spent days cleaning up dead bodies. “At first… I wanted revenge, too.”

“Really? Dragons are always known for their wisdom and long fuses. They must have really did a number on you.”

“Basically they killed the only man I would consider to be my Father. Of course he was human and found me when I was only the size of a river-stone. On one hand I want revenge on the person who actually killed him, but I realize that he was also a warrior doing his duty. Junis was killed protecting those he loved. Who knows what the enemy was fighting for? What if it was also to protect its own kin?” He paused for several moments, then he looked up at Nynn. “I think too much sometimes.” He smiled.

“So you are not going to take revenge?”

“What good would it do? Junis is already dead. The battle already seems to be over. The only reason to hunt him down would be if the evil threat was still a threat. I don’t know if Verlor is finally dead. There was an extreme explosion in the center of that battle. Someone with power beyond what I can conceive was destroyed with a power that was of the same strength. Many died there. I just wish there was a way to know how it ended.”
