Day 036.1: Origin of the STEEL Children
They all pondered the thought for several moments as they all ate. Nynn and Eeno both ate their share of a leg as Athvor nearly inhaled the rest in one bite, bones, guts and all. Athvor had not thought about this point. He had absorbed the STEEL and it had save his life from the mortal wound Junis had given him. There was no way to know whether or not there was any STEEL left in Junis to bring him back to life. “We need to find more information about this STEEL and what we can do with it. I’ve heard of stories of a land to the south. Supposedly this is where the STEEL originated.”
“My father ued to talk about this place all the time. It was called something like Neer-y-nod. I’m not really sure how he pronounced it. He used to roll his tongue when he spoke it, making this strange rattling sound around the Rs.”
“What kind of stories did he tell?”
“He told this one story about a man who found himself washed up on shore. He was captured by the locals and tortured because he was not like them. They made him like them, by pouring molten STEEL on he arms and nether regions. The STEEL bonded with his muscles and he pounded his way through the natives and was able to sail back to his homeland. He was an outcast because of his STEEL extremities. He did meet a woman who took pity on him. They had a child, spawning the race of the STEEL children.”
