Day 040: Here They Come

Nynn opened her eyes, squinting from the morning sun that was barely over the horizon. She looked at the dark shape that was Athvor. He was staring towards the end of the village. She had a hard time looking in the same direction because of the sun. When her eyes did finally adjust, she made out 3 figures walking in their direction.

Athvor continued to growl. There was something about these men. They were men. Athvor could smell it. They obviously had not bathed in a while and they stunk of war. Athvor knew they were trouble and they were here to kill themselves a dragon.

Nynn sat up strait. “Who are they Athvor?”

“I have no idea. They are not here to talk.” His voice was low and raspy. He was angry at these men. “They smell of the battle that was just fought. They are still alive and are looking for more bloodshed.”

“We should leave.”

“You are right. Wake Eeno. I will carry you both out of here.”

Nynn moved in a stoop towards Eeno. She didn’t want to look like she was moving but it was difficult to keep them from seeing her move. She watched them as she tapped Eeno on the shoulder. It took a couple of moments for him to stir. “Eeno… Eeno, wake up. We have to go… We have to go now!”

When he stirred and looked up at him he saw that she was looking back towards the horizon. The three figures were now running. They saw that their chance to attack the dragons was disappearing quickly. They were attacking now. Now was the time to fight.
