Day 042: Magic

Athvor didn’t bother looking down. He figured that his best plan was to fly as fast as he could. He needed to get them to safety and he could not risk of slowing himself by looking back. It turned out to be a mistake.

One of the two men that came out from the flaming sphere pulled something from a pocked on his leg. It was a silver box with buttons on top. The other man pulled his bow from his shoulder and pulled an arrow from his quiver. He tied an invisible string to the end of the arrow, notched it, pulled back, aimed and released at Athvor.

“Athvor! Watch out. They are shooting at us!”

Athvor tried to take evasive maneuvers, but turned into the path of the arrow. It stabbed into the soft arrow on the inside of his thigh. He would have reacted to this puncture, but he was immediately his with some kind of magic. It felt as if millions of needles were sticking into his skin under his scales all over his body. Every muscle in his body tightened and sent him into a dead drop from the sky. His friends would have screamed, but they were hit by the same magic he was.
