Day 047: The Fireball Opens

Athvor’s attention was diverted when e saw in the corner of his eye that the fireball that he had ignited on the three men earlier was beginning to move. The flames were still burning strongly from the liquid fuel that he spit out with the flames. But the flames split down the center. When the smoke cleared and the figure could be seen clearly behind the burning shield, the third man that was with SwordMan and HammerMan started to walk towards the three companions.

Athvor’s hear turned to one side as he watched the shield move with the man. It seemed to collapse up[on itself as he moved; the flames shrinking with the surface area as it did so. Athvor prepared himself. This man had a confidence about him that the others did not. This man was sure of himself. For some reason, this man was sure that he could, by himself, take down a fully grown dragon.

The shield continued to shrink until they molded themselves into his forearms. The flames continued to burn in small silver sections on his arms. He spit into his hand and laid it against the flames. They reluctantly went out. He repeated the same gesture for the other arm.

He was about a hundred feet from Athvor when he began to speak. “Interesting talent you have there dragon. Too bad it couldn’t save your master.”

Athvor looked at the sharpened STEEL edges of his wings, then looked back at his foe. A low rumble came from deep inside of him. This man knows who killed Junis. He may have even killed Junis himself. This man is going to suffer.
