Here is a Selfish Reason to Forgive.

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

As the wise Yoda once said: Fear leads to Anger; Anger leads to Hate; Hate leads to Suffering. When we don’t forgive someone, it is usually because we have fear in our heart. We fear that others will look down on us because we have forgiven them. We fear that they might do IT again to us or to another.

When we have this fear, we do not forgive. When we don’t forgive, we get angry. This anger causes stress in our body. Stress weakens our immune system. Because our immune system is weak, we open ourselves up to disease and illness. You see God created our immune system to be perfect. There is very little it cannot combat against. It is when we are stressed; when we are run down; that is when we get sick.

When we start to feel sick; when we start to get run down, our anger starts to turn to Hate. Hate is very dangerous. It is not only dangerous to us, but it is dangerous to those around us. We start to spread anger to others when we share the reasons we are not forgiving those who have hurt us. They get angry, their immune system becomes stressed and if they hold on to that anger, they too, get sick.

When our Anger turns to Hate, we are angry all of the time. We are only dwelling on the things others have done to us. We start to look for the mean things people who have yet to wrong us are doing. We look for the bad in everything and everyone. That fuels the Hate, bringing us even more stress. The more stress we have, the weaker our immune system and the sicker we become. Think about it. Have you ever met a really angry person (Someone who is angry all the time) who is healthy. They all have some kind of illness.

The more Hate in your heart, the sicker you become. This is the Suffering. Things continue to fall apart around you. Because you are sick, you can’t work. Because you are not there, your coworkers become stressed. They get angry and sick. If you are out long enough, they replace you. If you go back sick, you spread your anger to others. If you can’t make the money at work, you can’t pay the bills. I could keep going, but do you really want me to?

You can forgive the person or persons who have wronged you at any stage in the process above. Note: you must truly forgive them. Let go of the wrongs they did to you and forget about it (be wise enough not to let it happen again, but don’t hold that occurrence over that person ever again). Don’t even bring it up again. It helps if you state the forgiveness to that person, but it is not necessary. They may not even know you are mad at them. Just let it go.

When you forgive, the weight lifts. Your stress decreases and your body can use its strength to fight your illnesses instead of fighting your stress.

When your body is balanced again turn the whole thing around. Find your bliss. Find what makes you happy. Find what truly brings you joy. I know in my heart, and for most people, helping others will bring that kind of joy. The more joy you have, the stronger your immune system, the healthier you become.

Here’s the kicker. Do you know who provides that Joy? God does. He provides all the Love and Joy there is in the world. Give without expectations and receive the Joy God gives you for Loving others the way He Loves You.

This is one of the very few reasons that I really miss Living in South Florida. I miss attending Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale. They always have something going on and they take advantage of the talents of everyone they possibly can to put on a good show and keep people living large for Jesus Christ. A friend of mine posted this on Facebook which is probably the only way I would have known it existed.

In My Inbox: Concentrate On This Sentence

Saturday, May 17th, 2008

‘To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did’.

When God takes something from your grasp; He’s not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better.

Concentrate on this sentence….. ‘The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.’

Something good will happen to you today. Something that you have been waiting to hear, this is not a joke; someone will call you by phone or will speak to you about something that you were waiting to hear.

If you always do what you always did, then you will always get what you always got!
